If I don't write enough blog entries then the way I have my CSS set up means that the front page starts to look ugly as the number of entries on the left side of the page shrinks and the columns on the right go all squigly...
Is that why blog people end up writing these inane items that nobody really wants to read?
I've since changed the number of days that items stay on the front page to 14. Which helps a little, but I'd prefer to be able to say keep '7 days or x items' on the front page so that it never drops below a certain size...
